You can choose whether to have a plywood back included or not. This is recessed so the back of the unit is flat, and screwed in place, not tacked, so it won't come off when shoes are pushed against it.
Please note that as timber is a natural product there may be some variation in colour and grain pattern from the examples shown All of our furniture is made in our workshop in Dorset to extremely high standards using traditional carpentry techniques.
